Poppi Nature was born from the desire to offer a high-quality alternative for guinea pigs and rabbits, bringing nature into their homes. Starting from natural elements that contribute to a healthy and varied diet, we create and select foods, accessories and stimuli that enrich their daily life and promote psychophysical wellbeing.
Who’s behind Poppi Nature
My name is Laura Vedovato and I dedicated over ten years to volunteering for rabbits and guinea pigs, deepening my knowledge of these animals in contact with experienced veterinarians, volunteers and enthusiasts.
In 2020 I founded Poppi Nature, an artisanal business that combines production, selection of specialized products and education.
We directly oversee every phase of the process – from the choice of raw materials to production, from packaging to communication – to ensure quality, safety and transparency in everything we offer.
Veterinary supervision
Poppi Nature works with the advice of veterinarians.
We rely on professionals specialized in food hygiene, who support us in compliance with regulations and in the proper management of artisanal production, ensuring that every stage of the process is carried out in accordance with the standards required for pet food.
Regarding the selection of raw materials and products offered in the shop, our reference is Dr. Fabrizio Benini, a veterinarian with over thirty years of experience in the care of rabbits and exotic companion animals.
A graduate of an Agricultural Institute and passionate about wild herbs, Dr. Benini is a founding member of SIVAE (Italian Society of Exotic Animal Veterinarians), a member of the Veterinary Council of Treviso and medical director of the Biban Veterinary Clinic in Carbonera (TV).
Together with Dr. Benini we also carry out educational activities on social media, creating informative videos that promote more responsible care.
The workshop
Our workshop is located in Salzano (Venice). We deal both with resale, carefully selecting safe and natural products, and with authorized artisanal production, in full compliance with hygiene and health regulations for food intended for companion animals.
None of Poppi Nature’s products contain grains, seeds, legumes, molasses, preservatives or additives.
Each stage of the work is done by hand, with care and attention to detail.
Artisanal production and collaborations
We collaborate with local artisans and farms, such as basket weavers and hay producers, to enhance the local area and ensure quality and authenticity.
We actively support volunteer associations involved in the rescue, recovery and care of rabbits and guinea pigs in critical condition.
We do this through a material collection initiative available in our shop and by donating part of the proceeds from the sales of the Charity Heart, a product created specifically to help and contribute to the care of the most fragile animals.
Research and scientific foundations
Poppi Nature is not just a shop, but a reality in constant evolution, based on research and the study of scientific literature. The analysis of sources and plant properties guides the creation of products designed to provide natural and specific benefits for the wellbeing of rabbits and guinea pigs, combining scientific knowledge with practical experience.
